Discipleship
The call to discipleship is rooted in the Great Commission, where Jesus commands His followers to "go and make disciples of all nations" This directive underscores the importance of discipleship as a mandate for the Church. It is not an optional aspect of Christian life but a core responsibility for every believer. Jesus Himself modeled discipleship through His relationship with the twelve apostles. He invested time in teaching, mentoring, and equipping them for ministry. It is noted that Jesus appointed the twelve "that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach." This dual purpose of being with Jesus and being sent out reflects the essence of discipleship: intimacy with Christ and active participation in His mission.
